“This is what I want to show you,” Waverly put on her new coat, took some danced steps and said
proudly,“You know Rich, the guy I told you about?”

Though the hint was few, mother had already seen her
daughter’s intention—the coat was a gift sent by her foreign boyfriend.

The lady presented her gorgeous gift in front of
her mother. “You wanna try?” The voice was nervous,
excited and hopeful.

Coldly, the mother said,“This is not so good, only
left-over strips, see, the fur too short, no long hairs .” She had kept her face emotionless since she got into the apartment,
ignoring how exalted her daughter had been.

“How can you criticize a gift? He
gave this to me with all his heart.” The young woman could
not control her rage anymore.

“That’s
what I told you, not so good.” The mother was quite
composed, and found herself somewhere to sit down.

Witnessing it, Waverly turned back and said to
herself with tears filling in her eyes, “ I wasn’t let her go away this time, making
me don’t feel good about Rich.”

“Do you want to say anything else?” Turning back again, she asked angrily but still hopefully, while
all her heard was only four short words,

“What I should say?”

“About the apartment, about this,
and this or this, all this.”Waverly hysterically
shouted to the women sitting still on a chair and began throwing things towards
her.
